OUR STORY

House of Transylvania was born from the shared vision of two sisters, raised by the same roots and connected by a deep love for Romania.

One of us built a life thousands of miles away, spending more than two decades in Los Angeles, in the golden state of California. The other began her journey years ago, guiding visitors through the landscapes, traditions, and hidden beauty of our homeland.

Together, during a recent journey across Romania, we realized something unforgettable:

To many travelers, Romania begins with a legend.

The story of Dracula.
The mystery of Vlad Țepeș.
Castles hidden deep within the mountains.
Ancient

But beyond the myth lies something far more extraordinary.

A land of medieval cities, royal palaces, fortified churches, untouched villages, winding Carpathian roads, candlelit traditions, and stories carried through centuries.

A LIVING PIECE OF OLD EUROPE Much of Europe evolved into modernity long ago.

Romania preserved something rare.

Something authentic.

In many places across the country, it still feels as though time slowed down centuries ago. Villages continue ancient traditions. Horse carts still pass through medieval roads. Church bells echo through valleys untouched by modern noise. Families gather around tables the same way they did generations before.

Romania feels like a living museum of old Europe — preserving the atmosphere, beauty, and soul that much of the world has lost.

That is what makes it unforgettable.

A LAND SHAPED BY HISTORY

Romania stands at the crossroads of empires and civilizations.

For centuries, these lands defended Europe’s borders while preserving their language, traditions, and identity. While great European capitals rose into modernity, Romania fought to protect its kingdoms, culture, and spirit against invading empires.

The country was divided many times throughout history, yet its people remained deeply connected through heritage, faith, and language.

The dream of a united Romania became reality under Queen Marie and King Ferdinand — figures who helped shape and unify the modern nation through courage, diplomacy, and vision.

That spirit still lives here today.

A NIGHT INSIDE BRAN CASTLE

One evening, after hours, we found ourselves alone inside the legendary Bran Castle.

The halls had fallen silent.
The crowds had disappeared.
Only darkness, candlelight, ancient stone corridors, and the cold mountain air remained.

For a moment, it no longer felt like a castle visited by tourists from around the world. It felt alive.

As we walked through those ancient halls, surrounded by centuries of stories, we could almost feel the spirits of those who once lived there — the presence of Vlad Țepeș, royal figures, forgotten lives, untold love stories, and echoes of another era still lingering within the walls.

Outside, the Carpathian night wrapped itself around the castle like a dream.

And somewhere in that silence, everything became clear.

WHY WE CREATED HOUSE OF TRANSYLVANIA

We created House of Transylvania to offer more than travel.

We wanted to create private journeys filled with atmosphere, history, beauty, emotion, and human connection — experiences designed for travelers seeking the hidden soul of Europe.
